This set of figures represent Goblins, evil denizens of dark, haunted forests and the upper levels of dungeon complexes. Four different poses were made; a spearman, a goblin armed with a sling and dagger, a club-armed leader and one armed with a hand-pick. It seems likely that 5 variants of each pose were produced, with differences only seen in head and face detail.
Pose 1, variant A. This figure wears a sleeveless leather jerkin with iron rings sewn onto it, and is armed with a leather sling in his right hand and a curved dagger or shortsword in his right. He appears to be striding forward purposefully, with his left foot leading. This variant wears a plain conical steel helmet with a raised rim, and he is looking in the direction of his movement. His closed mouth has an upper fang protruding on the right side.
Pose 1, variant B. This variant wears a conical steel helmet with a pair of upwards curving horns at the front, and he is looking in the direction of his movement. His closed mouth is slightly open in a snarl.
Pose 1, variant C. This variant wears a conical steel helmet with rivetted crossbands and a horse-hair plume, and he is looking in the direction of his movement. His closed mouth has upper fangs protruding on both sides.
Pose 1, variant D. This variant wears a horned conical steel helmet with a rivetted raised rim, and he is looking in the direction of his movement. His slightly open mouth has upper fangs protruding on both sides.
Pose 1, variant E. This variant wears a plain conical steel helmet with a rivetted rim, and he is looking to his right. His mouth is open in a snarl, revealing a fine set of fangs.
Pose 2, variant A. This figure wears a sleeveless leather shirt with iron studs sewn onto it, and is thrusting forwards with a spear. He appears to be stepping tentatively forward, with his left foot leading. This variant wears a horned conical steel helmet with a raised rim, and he is looking along the length of his spear. His partly open mouth has upper fangs barely visible.
ose 2, variant B. This Goblin wears a crossbanded conical steel helmet with a narrow nasal, and he is looking along the length of his spear. His open mouth shows off his fangs.
Pose 2, variant C. This variant wears a spiked conical steel helmet with a raised rim, and he is looking along the length of his spear. His closed mouth has protruding upper fangs visible.
Pose 2, variant D. This variant is bare-headed revealing a bald pate, and he is looking along the length of his spear. His partly open mouth reveals his tongue protruding downwards and to the right.
Pose 2, variant E. This variant wears a conical steel helmet adorned with 4 short spikes, and he is looking along the length of his spear. His open mouth reveals his fangs.
Pose 3, variant A. This figure wears a ragged sleeveless leather jerkin, and holds a short, studded wooden club in his right hand. He appears to be stepping tentatively forward to attack. This variant wears a crossbanded conical steel helmet with a horse-hair plume, and he is looking straight forwards. His partly open mouth has upper fangs barely visible.
Pose 3, variant B. This Goblin wears a horned round steel helmet with a rivetted rim, and he is looking straight forwards. His partly open mouth has upper fangs barely visible.
Pose 3, variant C. This variant is helmetless reveling a bald head, and he is looking straight forwards. His closed mouth has an upper fang barely visible on the left side.
Pose 3, variant D. This variant wears a round steel helmet with two stumpy horns and a rivetted rim, and he is looking straight forwards. His open mouth has upper fangs visible.
Pose 3, variant E. This variant wears a cloth bandana around his bald head, and looks slightly to his right. His mouth is open in a snarl, with lower fangs visible.
Pose 4, variant A. This figure wears a ragged tunic with leather crossbelts, and he wields a short, single-bladed pick high in his right hand. He appears to be about to attack with his bodyweight leaning to his right. This variant wears a conical steel helmet with a raised, rivetted rim and a thin horse-hair plume, and he is looking to his right. His mouth is open with a broad tongue protruding.
Pose 4, variant B. This variant wears a conical steel helmet with a pair of broad horns and a raised, rivetted rim, and he looks forwards. His mouth is closed but an upper fang protrudes on the right side.
